Each triple-milled French soap is made the traditional way to create a rich, long-lasting bar. La Toja is named after the tiny island off Galicia where the company was founded. The mineral springs there were said to have healing powers and La Toja began making soap from the spa’s mineral salts in the early 20th century. When the 50’s came around, Spain entered fully into the era of the image. Cosmetic and perfume manufacturers began to sell magic and glamour in a bottle. La Toja responded with the creation of Magno, the first black soap that produced a white-as-snow foam. The exotic scent and quality of the soap made it universally loved and popular even to this day.
