Dear Chuck and Chuck,

I have contact dermatitis and cannot use soap with "stuff" in it, neither for laundry nor bathing. I discovered Pears from my father who was from Ireland. It is the only soap that I can use and it is 99.99% effective. I have never found a U.S. product that works for me. Over time I have ordered a couple of cases of Pears from you at what I know is a very reasonable price.

My experience with your company has been flawless and when this batch is used up, I will be back.

My husband and I discovered your store about ten years ago when we were touring with the New York City Opera National Company and were performing in Madison. We spent a good portion of our perdiem check that day in your store, and have continued to order through mail order and now the web over the years.

When I recently ordered a Rigaud candle for a Christmas present for him, you kindly gave me a reduced price on a candle that had been in stock for a while. I have been meaning to write for a while to thank you for making such great glycerin soaps. I especially love the Lemongrass Ginger with Ground Walnuts. Hello! First, let me tell you I LOVE LOVE LOVE your store!!! Whenever I fly in from Philadelphia, I always stop in…usually more than once! My bags always weigh more upon departure because I’ve purchased so many good smelling things. Visiting The Soap Opera is always one of the highlights of my trip to Madison.

I also wanted to thank you for being such a ‘baby friendly’ store. As a new mom, I occasionally find it difficult to navigate through stores with baby, stroller and diaper bag in tow. One of the Chucks (I’m not sure which one!!!) graciously offered to stow my stroller behind the counter. I was and still am so appreciative.

Anyways, while browsing your addicting web site, I came across a small typographical error that I thought you may want to correct. On this page crabtree/ce_hs.php3 there should be a closed parentheses after ‘peppermint, balsam and gingerbread.’ I know, just a small detail, but I want your web site to be the best ever!!!  <<<Thanks to Elizabeth for pointing this out. We have since made the correction!>>>

Two years ago I searched the internet looking for Primal Elements soap. I'd previously purchased a few bars while out of town on a business trip and wasn't able to find a local distributor. Your website was one of the first I looked at, in part because of your clever business name, and I was thrilled to see you carried such a wide variety of Primal Elements.

Since then I've placed a few orders for myself and, most recently, ordered a Mother's Day gift set to be shipped to my mother. It was the spa set and she absolutely loved it! I chose to have the box gift wrapped and was pleasantly surprised to receive a handwritten letter from your company along with a sample of the gift wrap. What a nice touch! In these high tech times we often forget how nice it is to have actual personal contact.

I lived in Madison for 18 years, starting in 1971. I remember the first store so well.
